I taught writing for 38 years at Henry Ford College. Since retiring I’ve published four collections of essays, a short memoir, and a novel. Here’s a link to that work. My next book–Snapshots–is a short memoir based on the work outlined in the pages of this website.

I’ve also edited and helped publish work for friends. Recently, in two of those works, I saw the use of “chunks,” paragraph-length passages exploring a topic. I saw how useful those chunks are–allowing writers to touch on topics, open and close a discussion in short order.
When we think of memoir, we think “story of a life,” like long-form autobiography. This project is not that. This is short-form memoir–moments in time, snapshots.
